It’s a happy dance post today, with photos of my blackwork project finished – yay!
This design “Tiny Treasures” by Elizabeth Almond (Blackwork Journey) is a free downloadable chart, and available in either a square or rectangular version. Avis and I both stitched the rectangular version. Drum roll please . . .
I’ll be finishing this up as either a wall hanging or table runner – something to bring out each year at Christmas time. For the time-being, it’s folded in a drawer, and I’ll choose suitable fabrics later in the year to do the patchwork finish.
In the meantime, I had a rummage in my xstitch drawer, and have chosen this as my next SAL project.
It’s a full coverage design on 16 count aida, with 42 different colours . . . should keep me out of mischief for quite a while!
Here is the full list of link to other SAL members.
Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Mary Margaret, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, Connie, AJ,
Jenny, Laura, Cathie, Linda, Helen
and we’ll be back again on 2nd May.
that blackwork is so incredibly beautiful. It will make a lovely table runner.
thanks Dawn. I might make it into a table runner, but also add “slots” at the back so it could also be a wall hanging. Will need to think about it first.
Ooo. Clever.
Congratulations!!! You deserve that happy dance, and created a lovely piece that will be treasured for years.
thanks Anne ^^ I am really pleased with how it turned out, and yes I think it’ll be a fun piece to bring out every xmas, rather than seeing on display all year round.
Ooh, I didn’t realise that blackwork was such a long piece Claire. It will look great as either a wall hanging or table runner.
That new project is a lovely image and I can see it will definitely keep you out of mischief,
yes very long & skinny, hence perfect for table runner or wall-hanging.
Cha cha, rumba, Love a happy dance.
thanks Debbie. New project is going to take forever to do, but what is time, eh?
Time is Just a stitch stitch here and a stitch stitch there, here a stitch there a stich, everywhere a stitch stich – of one kind or another
Congrats on the finish! It is beautiful. Your next piece is quite a departure from the piece that you just finished.
yep totally different, but they do say: a change is as good as a rest ^^
It’s beautiful! My drawer is getting rather full of finished pieces that need to be properly finished off. Gone are the days when I used to finish everything as soon as the stitching was done.
full drawers is a problem here too!
Dancing along with you and smiling 🙂 beautifully done. Love the idea of a table runner too. Great new project.
thank you Sharon ^^ Might need to do some fabric shopping first because I’m rather low on festive xmas colours ^^
Congratulations on a beautiful finish, it looks so pretty and festive in the red and green. Love the new project too.:-)
I love the table runner, congratulations on a fabulous finish! Your new project is a wow! That will keep you busy.
thanks Kathy ^^ I ummed and ahhed about what project to tackle next and have chosen one of my most recently bought kits. It’s going to take forever to do, but I do like a unicorn ^^
Congratulations! Your finish is gorgeous! That next project is going to be quite something!

Gorgeous Claire! Congratulations on your happy dance! I’ve loved seeing that project grow over time. And your new project looks lovely and challenging.
thanks Sunny ^^ This was lots of fun to stitch, and yes, the unicorns is going to be a whole new kettle of fish!
And my goodness do you deserve a happy dance for this beauty. How stunning it is. Your new project looks lovely too. Way to go Claire!
thank you Mary Margaret – new project is going to be more like hard work, I reckon, but I do like the finished picture.
I´m dancing for both you and Avis, singing Ah ha ha ha…….. Love your Blackwork Journey and now I´ll start mine! Your new project is stunning!
This is gorgeous and will make a lovely table runner. Good Vibes and a Happy Dance.
thank you Daisy ^^
It is wonderful!!! Very much appeals to this quilter, it looks like mini quilts!
yes I suppose it does with all those little squares ^^
Congratulations on this finish, it looks lovely ! I like the project you’ve chose next
thank you ^^ I like the next project too – just worried about the full all over stitching
Hurray! Congrats on the finish! I love the idea of a Christmas table runner ❤ Looking forward to seeing you start the unicorns 😀 Curious to see your full coverage stitching method…any parking??
probably not ^^ I’m worried I’ll get my parked theads in knots or worse, weave them in as I work on other colours lol.
😂 haha I hear ya!
Congrats on a fantastic finish. It looks amazing!
I love the new project. Such dreamy colours, and who doesn’t love unicorns 🙂
