SAL update–unicorn #9

On the last 3-weekly update I showed a no-progress photo of “Unicorn & Maiden” by Joan Elliott, which looked like this

SAL 25 09

Some progress has been made this time around, but very little.

SAL 06 11

I’ve been working on greys and white, doing lots of frogging along the way, and cursing this part of the chart.

I will be very glad when the unicorn is complete, because I think it’ll be easier stitching once I move across to the maiden.

Don’t forget to check out what other SAL members have been up to.  We don’t all live in the same time-zone, so some update posts appear later than others.  In our group of international stitchers there are: Avis, Gun, Carole, Wendy, LucyAnn, Kate, Jess, Sue, Constanze, Debbierose, Christina, SusanP, Kathy, Margaret and our newest member Cindy.

Next update on 27th November.

  1. It’s looking very good; are you being very disciplined about what bits you work on, or could you treat yourself to a break from the grey and frogging, and work on the maiden for a bit…?

    • it’s actually working on evenweave that’s slowing me down. Keep on miscounting by one hole, hence stitches slightly out and need frogging

  2. I would never have the patience for this. The unicorn looks rather unsettled at the moment – the sooner the maiden has a head, the better he’ll feel I’m sure 😉
