happy 1st May and my un-birthday!

In France, May 1st is a Bank Holiday, and the day on which many people offer small bouquets of Lily of the Valley as a sort of good luck symbol, a sign that Spring is on its way, I suppose.

Spring doesn’t seem to be on the agenda this May 1st – it’s raining heavily and doesn’t look as if it’s going to stop.  But, undeterred, I went down to the bottom of our garden to take this photo of our Lily of the Valley ^^  I much prefer seeing them growing in the garden than to cut a bunch and bring them indoors.

Not many buds actually in flower, but enough to wish you all a happy May 1st.

And a few more photos because Cath sent me a lovely un-birthday surprise Rire

    • it was a lovely surprise to see the Lily of the Valley patch in our new garden. And even though flowers aren’t all open yet, it still smells lovely

    • thank you Susan. We ended up going to visit family instead of staying in. But not to worry, weather forecast is bad for the entire weekend so I’m sure I’ll fit some crafting in ^^
