In France, May 1st is a Bank Holiday, and the day on which many people offer small bouquets of Lily of the Valley as a sort of good luck symbol, a sign that Spring is on its way, I suppose.
Spring doesn’t seem to be on the agenda this May 1st – it’s raining heavily and doesn’t look as if it’s going to stop. But, undeterred, I went down to the bottom of our garden to take this photo of our Lily of the Valley ^^ I much prefer seeing them growing in the garden than to cut a bunch and bring them indoors.
Not many buds actually in flower, but enough to wish you all a happy May 1st.
And a few more photos because Cath sent me a lovely un-birthday surprise
a lovely card and several bookmarks for my collection. A zoom on my two favourites
The one on the left is artwork by Rebecca Dautremer and the one on the right, hand-stitched by Cath. A big “merci” to Cath for such a wonderful surprise ^^
