a bit of this that and the other

Hello everyone, I hope you are making the most of the long Bank Holiday weekend to do some crafting or simply taking life easy.  We’ve had a rather busy few days but it’s all been good ^^

First of all, we’ve had an offer for our house, and accepted. So, fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly over the coming weeks/months and that we’ll be able to do the official signing asap.

This wonderful news galvanised us into doing more sorting and clearing out . . . getting covered in thick cobwebs in the process, as we sorted through items that have been stored under our lean-to outside, for the last 13 years lol.  Here’s just a small part of what we took to the local tip

We still have several journeys to make but it’s nice to feel we’re gradually getting there.

I ordered some special plastic storage bags on amazon the other day, the ones where you suck out the air with vacuum cleaner, so that I can try and pack some things more “tightly”.  While ordering, I added a book to my cart ^^  . . . naughty, but nice.

Here’s what I treated myself to

book1

18 designs by Joan Elliott. They are all so gorgeous, you’ll understand why I was naughty

book2

And when that arrived, it prompted me to get back to one of my WIPs which was fast becoming a UFO.  You may remember that I began stitching Joan Elliott’s “Maiden and Unicorn” last year?  Well last time I did any work on it was in January this year, so it’s been a while

That is what it looked like early January . . . and here’s what it looks like now.

Not a great deal of progress, but I plan on keeping this project close to hand and working on more of the maiden’s robe.

  1. Congratulations on the offer on your house. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. I know the process differs in France – does it take as long as in the UK? Have you already somewhere in mind to move to?
    Loving the Christmas designs…….

  2. Your house is looking all spick and span 🙂 I’m not surprised it has been snapped up! You deserve a treat and your book looks perfect. Lots of lovely Christmas goodies to keep you busy. I’m also looking forward to seeing more of the unicorn 🙂

  3. Congrats on the house offer. I hope everything goes just the way you want it to :). You’re doing great with your projects and everything else you have going on. ……Izz
