Like stitchers all over the world, I am getting ready for 2011 . . . with my list of projects growing and little brain buzzing with ideas for the coming months. One definite start for January will be a Pelin Tezer design: Turkish Sampler 2. I have printed the chart out, and decided on my threads. Sometimes I’ve gone for the exact colour recommended and at other times I’ve gone for a close match. but haven’t quite decided what fabric to stitch on. I’m tempted to make it small, and stitch over one on evenweave but need to sit down and do the maths to see how big finished size would be.
I wouldn’t be a cross stitcher if I didn’t have tons of resolutions for this coming year. What better way to mark time than by finished projects. I have already done a brief outline of projects I will be tackling in “Projects for 2011” but will be adding to that as the months go by. 2011 looks like it’s going to be a Joan Elliott year for me. I have a couple of books on order ( late xmas presents from my two strapping sons), have discovered there are several JE designs in my cross stitch magazine stash AND have fallen in love with several of her designs so will definitely be doing at least one.
