Yesterday, February 8th, I was the birthday girl in this house ^^
Another year has flown by and I’m fast approaching the half-century mark, but not quite there yet. Forty-eight and I don’t feel a day over thirty-eight, although the mirror tells me otherwise. But what the heck – none of us are getting any younger, and the great thing about growing one year older is the pressies lol.
My darling other-half remembered this year, and thought of my poor little stitcher’s hands . . . giving me the warmest pair of gloves you have ever worn. Perfect for this cold spell, when walking the dog I can tell you, but maybe black wasn’t the best colour (?) as they’re already covered in beige dog hairs lol. No photo as, while they’re very practical, they’re not very photogenic.
Valérie reckons that when it’s cold, chocolate is the best thing . . . so she gave me some calories to burn and help keep me warm from the inside, and a very yummy tin.
Sandra has gone for the “keep that brain creative” approach – we all know that a busy brain keeps the head warm, now don’t we? So she sent me a wonderful Tilda book AND the most gorgeous Russian Doll candle holder
My daughter (aka Lindashee) had been a busy bee, and taken on a project that kept her occupied in secret for many an evening. And made me the most gorgeous wadded pouch to keep my Cybook safe.
She got very frustrated (to judge by all the noise I heard coming from her bedroom this past week) with the assembly part and was very apologetic for “wonky seams and corners” but I think it’s lovely . . . the perfect fit, and the stitching is magnificent, in 1 thread, over 1. The design is a free by Gazette94.
And Lovely Lionel has also been dropping cards though my door. Thanks to Alison, Betty and Jocelyne.
Now isn’t it worth growing a year older, don’t you think?
Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a fantastic day with lots of presents
Oops! My bad! I celebrated the wrong number birthday … LOL
I’m glad you had a happy day. xoxo
